NaNoWriMo 2009: Pennies for NaNo

Okay, so I have decided that being co-ML means that it is defintely not too early to start thinking about NaNo 2009.

My first thought about my region’s collective adventure is that we need to raise more money next year than we did this year.  (So far this year we’re at $175 … not bad, but I think we can do better.)

My idea was 50,000 pennies, one for each word of our goal.  If our region can manage to find and save and collect 50,000 pennies, that’s a $500 donation.

Probably next year times will still be tight.  Even so, pennies are always about, and are often unwanted, not to mention unmissed.

So far, I have 268 pennies to donate to our region’s goal of 50,000.  That’s not many, but it is only December 2008!  And only from me!

I think we can do it.
